I noticed a quarter had been placed on one of the stones. On another stone I noticed a nickel had been placed there. I was so touched with this that I took pictures. I then googled about the coins and found out this which I am very proud to share with you.<\/p>\n<p>A coin left on a headstone lets the deceased soldiers family know that somebody stopped by to pay their respect.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leaving a penny means you visited the site.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A nickel means you and the deceased soldier trained at boot camp together.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A dime means you served with the soldier.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A quarter is very significant because it means you were there when that soldier died.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was not aware of this tradition&#8230;.
